We are a plant pathology research group that focuses on fungal diseases of canola (Brassica napus, rapeseed). Our main focus is on blackleg disease, the most significant disease of canola worldwide, which is caused by the fungus Leptosphaeria maculans. Our research looks at all aspects of disease control from genetic resistance, cultural practices and fungicide use. Our primary grants are from the Grains Research and Development Corporation, which is a funding body that is principally supported by grower levies and the Australian government.
